FSOS faculty and students shared research at national conference
Family Social Science faculty, students, and alumni shared their research and expertise at the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy's Systemic Family Therapy conference, earlier in November.
Current faculty Ronald Asiimwe, Steven Harris, Tai Mendenhall, Timothy Piehler, and Armeda Wojciak were all featured in conference breakout sessions and research discussions. In addition, also sharing their research were FSOS graduate students Ana Diaz, Janette Driscoll, Shauna Fenske, Alex Hanson, Anita Kateregga, and Umme Kawser, as well as PhD alumni Lexie Dwanyen, Quintin Hunt, Ashley Landers, and Jessica Simpson.
Main stage speaker featured FSOS professor emeritus
William Doherty, professor emeritus and co-founder of Braver Angels, was a main stage speaker at the conference. His presentation," Therapists in a Divided World: Having Difficult but Necessary Conversation," addressed the effects political polarization is having on therapists and their patients and advocated that therapists apply their systemic understanding to the problems facing society.
