Parent and family ed alumni honored
Lucy Littlewolf Arias, a graduate of the Family Social Science MEd program in family education, was honored as a College of Education and Human Development Distinguished Alumni. She was recognized at a ceremony in November for her contributions as an early childhood program activist.
Throughout her career, Arias has been an advocate for children and families in her roles as a classroom teacher, family educator, Early Childhood program director, and public health initiative leader.
She currently works in the Minnesota Department of Education as the Early Education Language and Literacy Specialist, where she supports early childhood programs that serve emergent bilingual children and initiatives that revitalize the Ojibwe language.
She also leads the planning, implementation and evaluation processes of Preschool Development Grant Activities with Tribal Nation and American Indian-serving community agencies.
Lucy Littlewolf Arias holds a bachelor’s in Developmental and Child Psychology, a master of education in Parent and Family Education from the Department of Family Social Science, and a master of arts in Evaluation Studies.
