Biography

Hanna Yu is actively seeking a summer internship opportunity where she can further develop her leadership skills, expand her network with financial practitioners, and gain insight into clients' financial goals and behaviors. She is a second-year Master's/PhD student in the Department of Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Her research interests encompass understanding and improving the microeconomic factors that influence financial well-being, including events like COVID-19. She focuses on financial management and planning, financial education, and their impact on decision-making processes across various life stages. Her current work centers on exploring the relationship between financial attitudes and behaviors, with a specific emphasis on financial technology. She aims to conduct translational research that provides practical strategies and applications for practitioners and policymakers to enhance financial well-being, capability, and inclusion for all individuals. Hanna holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Applied Statistics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
