Family Social Science faculty and graduate students have been recognized with honors and awards from national associations in the family science, marriage and family therapy and gerontological fields. They will also share their research at national conferences this month supported by generous donors to the Ruth E. Hall Travel Grant Fund.

Graduate student Athena Chan has been honored with the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) Mentoring and Career Development Technical Assistance Workshop Junior Investigator Diversity Fellow Travel Award. It partially supported her GSA conference registration fee and provided opportunities to attend professional development workshops prior to the conference as well as mentor with a scholar in the gerontological field in the upcoming year. In addition, she presented two posters at the conference.
Yiting Li and Miguel Quinones have been awarded scholarships to attend (virtually) the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE) Symposium. The scholarships also includes one-year memberships for both. In addition, Quinones has been awarded a National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) Student Access Grant to attend the annual conference that also includes one year of membership.
