FSOS grad students win awards at CEHD Research Day

Graduate students in the Family Social Science doctoral program won “People’s Choice Awards” at the annual CEHD Research & Innovation Day. The event showcased 60 research posters, the most in the event’s history.

In the “Successful Collaboration” category, Lila Khan, Zeba Ahmed, and Emma Worthley were recognized for “Community-based youth mentoring for autistic adolescents by autistic adults.” Khan is a FSOS PhD student, Ahmed is a master’s student in Integrated Behavioral Health, and Worthley is a PhD student in Educational Psychology. Their collaborators were Lindsey Weiler, FSOS associate professor, Rebekah Hudock, Dept. of Pediatrics assistant professor, and Meredith Gunlicks-Stoessel, associate professor, UMN Medical School.

In the “Innovative Use of Technology in Research” category, Eunyoung Park and Samantha LeBouef won for their project, “Identifying patterns of parent-adolescent communication in person and using technology.” Both are PhD students in Family Social Science and their faculty collaborator was Jodi Dworkin, professor and extension specialist.
