FSOS graduate student paper accepted by international journal

Nusroon Fatiha, a graduate student in Family Social Science, has been notified that a manuscript-version of her FSOS master’s thesis has been accepted for publication. The publication, AlterNative, An International Journal of Indigenous Peoples, presents “scholarly research on Indigenous worldviews and experiences of decolonization from Indigenous perspectives from around the world.” Fatiha’s paper, “How to do research with Native communities: Lessons from students’ experiences and Elders’ wisdom,” is her first first-author peer-reviewed / refereed publication. Co-authors were Tai Mendenhall, professor in FSOS, and Jerica Berge (FSOS PhD alumna), professor and vice chair for research in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, the Carole J. Bland, PhD Endowed Chair at the UMN Medical School, and a Distinguished McKnight University Professor.
